![]() ![]() I don't know how far the widescreen hacks for 2d games go these days but if they are half as fun as some of the stuff I see for FOV and whatnot in 3d games then you will have some things to handle it. ![]() Fortunately for the PC then there is not any reference hardware to really get in the way and it is still somewhat mathematical like the 3d stuff, though with the fun of draw, AI, animation and such boundaries and detection and whatnot of the 2d hacks. For 2d then you yeah you need to expand the game how it needs to. For 3d then if you can change the viewport to render more then you have your hack. Indeed unless you want assets from the Switch version trying to port things across is probably just going to make things harder.Ģd games can be tricky to add widescreen to if they are proper 2d and not just 3d projected onto a flat surface. ![]() It might well help but for this sort of thing it is not required and for that matter most of the same guides to doing the co-op and widescreen hacks will apply to PC as well. You don't need source code to edit PC games much like you don't need source code to do ROM hacks on consoles. ![]()
